Unlink externally synced files in the Files library Updated December 09, 2025 16:54 You can sync files to your Files library via a Showpad App connector or integration with a cloud storage service such as SharePoint, Google Drive, Box, or the Content API. This allows you to have all your content and tags available in your Showpad Library. To keep your external content management system as your single source of truth, assets synced to Showpad are not editable. The option to unlink a file allows you to unlink it from its original synced storage so you can delete or edit it as necessary. When you make a file local, you can rename it, upload a new version, or remove it. However, you should remove the file from your external storage to avoid creating duplicates the next time you sync with it.See how it looksKey featuresMore flexibility over files synced from an external content management system (CMS)Make files local to Showpad by breaking the link of their synced storageDelete, edit, and rename assets originally synced from an external sourceYou need this to succeedPlan: eOS Expert, eOS Advanced, eOS ProfessionalLegacy plan: Showpad Content UltimatePermissions: Administrator, Promoted Member with Content permissionPrerequisites: Files in your Files library synced with a cloud storage service or CMSThe quick wayNavigate to the Libraries tab in the Admin AppSelect All files to open the Files libraryClick on an external file and select the Unlink external file iconDo this step by stepNavigate to the Libraries tab in the Admin App.If your organization uses multiple Divisions/Libraries, select the desired one from the top-left dropdown menu.Select All Files in the left-side menu to open the Files library.Click on a synced file to open its details panel.
