Logging Showpad activity to MS Dynamics on your devices Updated January 09, 2025 09:49 Showpad’s MS Dynamics integration capabilities will enable you to focus on selling and alleviate the pain of administrative work needed after each meeting. When you're firing off emails to prospective customers from Showpad, you can easily log them to MS Dynamics and skip the manual steps of updating your CRM records. This article gives an overview of how our MS Dynamics integration works in each of our iOS app, Windows Desktop App, or the Web app. Select the platform you're using on top of this page to see how it works. If you do not have the option to log to MS Dynamics, please contact your Administrator. This feature may not be enabled for you and additional steps may be necessary. All your sharing activities in Showpad are logged as an activity in Dynamics, with references to your Opportunities, Contacts, and your Leads. Do this step by step Logging activities to Dynamics Sign in on Showpad on your iOS device. Open the content you'd like to share. This can be a Collection or selected files in an Experience. Click the Share icon and choose email or link. If you choose email, the compose screen opens. Make sure the Log to Dynamics option is enabled to log all activity in Dynamics. Click the CRM button and toggle Log to Dynamics on. This will be remembered for following shares. In the To field, start typing the name, email address, or Account name. When Log to Dynamics is enabled, the recipient's information will automatically populate as you type. Once the recipient's email address is filled in, the Opportunity/Account field will also be automatically populated. You can also manually add an Opportunity, Account, Contact or Lead to log the share to. If a contact is connected to an account or opportunity, you can also see the activity there within the Dynamics Showpad Insights app. Note: To find a related object for a given Contact, we follow these steps: We search for the last opened Opportunity associated with the Contact. We use the 'parentcustomerid' field to determine the corresponding Account We look for an 'Open' Opportunity (statecode field is equal to 0) with 'parentaccountid' equal to the ID of that Account If no Opportunity is found, we search for the contact's Account If no Account is found, we use the contact itself as the related object. Click the settings icon to select a sharing Theme for this share, and choose whether or not to Allow Downloads by the recipient. Insert a Subject and a message for your Share. You can add additional content by searching your content, or by browsing your Experiences and Collections. Tap Send. If you choose to share via Link, ensure the Log to Dynamics is toggled on within the CRM section. Manually add the relevant Opportunity, Account, Contacts, or Leads or intend to share the link with, then click Copy Link. Share the link in your preferred communication method, and it will be logged as an activity in your Dynamics account. In Dynamics, you can see this Share in the Activities tab. You can also view it within the Activities section on related object records. Clicking the Subject will open the Task Details, showing the detailed information about what was shared including the content, recipients, and message. If your admin configured the Showpad Insights app in your Dynamics, you can see the sharing activity there as well on relevant Dynamics objects. See how it's done on the Windows Desktop app With our MS Dynamics integration for the Windows Desktop app, you can: Access all Dynamics contacts Capture all content shared with prospects in Dynamics as Activity. This is done automatically when you share content with a Dynamics contact or lead while connected to Dynamics. Do this step by step Login to the Showpad Windows Desktop app and navigate to the asset you wish to share. Choose to share via Email or Link. For email shares, the compose screen will open. Make sure the box for Log to Dynamics is checked. You may be prompted to log in. This will open another window for you to input your Dynamics credentials. Once you're logged in, at the bottom of the email share, you will see the Log to Dynamics button enabled and a Related to field where you can select Accounts, Opportunities, Contacts, or Leads. In the To field, start typing the name, email address, or Account name. When Log to Dynamics is enabled, the recipient's information will automatically populate as you type. Once the recipient's email address is filled in, the Opportunity/Account field will also be automatically populated. When all the information is correct and ready to go, click Send to send your content and log the share to Dynamics. If you selected to share via Link, make sure the Log to Dynamics toggle is enabled. Select an Account, Opportunity, Lead or Contact to relate to the share activity in Dynamics. See how it's done on the Web app With our MS Dynamics integration for the Web app, you can: Access all Dynamics contacts Capture all content shared with prospects in as Activity. This is done automatically when you share content with a Dynamics contact or lead while connected to Dynamics. Do this step by step Log in to the Showpad Windows Desktop app and navigate to the asset you wish to share. Choose to share via Email or Link. If you choose to share via email, the email compose screen will open. Make sure the box for Log to Dynamics is checked. You may be prompted to log in. This will open another window for you to input your Dynamics credentials. When the message pops up verifying your activity was logged, you can click View Activity to open the record in Dynamics. If you choose to share via Link, ensure the toggle for Dynamics logging is enabled. Add the relevant Account, Opportunity, Contact, or Lead to log the activity to.Click Next then copy the link and paste it in your preferred communication tool to share with prospects. Here is an example of a Showpad Share activity record in Dynamics. If your organization's admin has enabled the Showpad Insights app in your Dynamics instance, you can also view insights on record pages. In this example, you can see the Showpad App on an Account, and the sharing activity associated with that account or its related contacts.
