Professional tier includes chat, vision intelligence, conversation starters, and the company content agent. Advanced tier includes chat, vision intelligence, voice control, conversation starters, deep research agent, and podcast agent. Expert tier includes chat, vision intelligence, voice control, conversation starters, company research agent, deep research agent, podcast agent, and custom agents. You need this to succeed Plan: eOS Expert Legacy plan: Showpad Coach Essential, Showpad Content Essential, or higher Add-on: Expert AI Bundle Permissions: Administrator Prerequisites: An active Glean account with admin access The quick way Navigate to Admin Settings, click Genie, then select Integrations Select the MCP Connectors tab, locate Glean, and click Connect Enter the Server URL from the Glean Admin Console and click Connect Click Authorize, then configure the connection settings and click Save Do this step by step You can quickly establish a remote MCP connection to Glean and define which specific capabilities are available to Genie. Tip: Open Showpad and Glean side by side so you can easily copy and paste between them. Connect Glean In Showpad Log in to the Admin App and click the gear icon to open Settings. In the left menu, click Genie to expand the section and select Integrations. Click the MCP Connectors tab. The tab displays: Search: A search bar to browse all MCP servers (Connected and Not connected). Connected: These are the remote MCP servers that have been connected. Note: Authorization may still be required. Not connected: These are the remote MCP servers that have not been connected. Locate the Glean card and click Connect. Enter the Glean Server URL from the Glean Admin Console. Click Connect. In the Glean Admin Console Sign in to the Glean Admin Console, navigate to Platform, and select Glean MCP server. Click Create server. Complete the server configuration form. Select External tools. Enable the server. Copy the auto-generated Server URL and paste it into Showpad. Tip: For more detailed information, see the Glean documentation. Back to Top Authorize and Configure Connection Locate the Glean card in your Connected list and click Authorize. You’ll be prompted to log into Glean. Once logged in, click the three dot menu on the Glean card in Showpad and select Configure. This lets you choose how Genie can use the Glean connection: At the top of the modal, you’ll see a set of filters: Filter Descriptions All Enables every available feature with no filtering. By annotation Enables features based on the type of action they perform.: Read Only: This means the feature only retrieves information and cannot change or delete anything.Idempotent: This means the action is safe to run more than once without causing extra changes. Filters can be combined; a count shows how many available methods match the selected criteria. These filters can be combined, and a count is displayed reflecting how many of the available methods meet the selected criteria. By tool Choose features individually from a list rather than filtering by type. Below the filters, the matching features are listed with their name, a short description, and a label (such as "Read Only"). When you’ve finished your selection, click Save. Back to Top Create agent Once Glean is connected and authorized, create an agent to make it available to your users. The agent surfaces the Glean connection in Genie. Select Agent Studio in the left menu. On the Agents tab, click Create new. Select Create custom agent. Click Create. Configure the agent: Tab Description Details Complete the following information: Name: Enter a descriptive name for the agent. Description: Provide text to describe the agent. Agent instructions: Enter instructions for the agent. Tools Enable the MCP Connectors option and select Glean. Click Publish. Confirm the agent creation by clicking Publish. Click Close to return to the Agents tab. Back to Top Manage agent permissions By default, agents are available to all users. To restrict access to specific teams or individuals, you can configure their permissions. On the Agents tab, locate your new agent, and click the three dot menu. Select Manage permissions. Click Set Permissions. Click Add users. From here, you can add: Users: Use the search bar to find individual users, then click Add. The added user(s) will be displayed in the panel on the right. Groups: Use the search bar to find user groups, then click Add. The added group(s) will be displayed in the panel on the right. When you’ve finished your selection, click Add. Note: To revert the agent to being available to all users, click Reset permissions and confirm by clicking Reset.
