View assets with Showpad's Asset Viewer Updated January 21, 2025 14:01 You have several options available when viewing content in the Asset Viewer. Depending on your Showpad package and preferred device, you can record a video message, start a slideshow, add annotations, share the asset, and more. In addition to the actions you can take, you can see quick insights on content within your Experiences and Shared Spaces by expanding the asset details panel in the Asset Viewer. See the context for each asset based on its popularity with peers and how long prospects spent viewing it on average. Use this engagement intel to help you choose what content to share and show your prospects. You can also view the description, author, tags, comments, and when they were last edited. Find an asset you want to view, interact with, or get more information about. Use the search icon at the top or navigate to the Content tab. Click an asset to open it in the Asset Viewer. Hover over the document in the viewer to display the left and right arrows. Click the arrows to navigate through the document pages. If viewing an asset in a folder, the next asset will display after viewing all pages in the initial document. Video and audio files start playing automatically in the Asset Viewer. Hover over the video to display video options. Pause/Play: starts and stops the video Seek bar: select a different spot in the video timeline to view Volume: sets the audio volume. If grayed out, no audio is available Full screen: expands the video to fill your screen Three dot menu: reveals additional options Playback speed: select a faster or slower speed Picture in Picture: opens a mini player in a new window, allowing the file to play in the background while you perform tasks outside of Showpad. The mini-player will stop playing when you close the Asset Viewer or navigate to another asset. Use the menu at the top of the screen for the following actions, which may vary according to your package: Start Showpad Video: begins recording a video message from this asset Add to Collection: select the entire asset or specific pages to add to a Showpad Collection Annotate: use a pen, highlighter, text size, and color to accentuate the asset during presentations Toggle thumbnails: opens and closes the left-side menu detailing the asset by page or slide More actions: open the asset in a native app, such as Adobe or Microsoft, download the asset, or like it with a thumbs up Share: generate an email, a link, or add the asset to a Shared Space In-document search: If your asset contains enough detectable text, you will see a magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner. Click it to expand and enter the text you want to search for. Use the arrows to jump forward and back between multiple uses of the same word to locate key topics quickly. Use the options from the bottom menu to open the thumbnails for multi-page assets, zoom out or zoom in, and switch between single-page view or continuous scrolling. The asset details panel is automatically hidden, so when you’re presenting, the first view is simply the content. Your preference will be remembered the next time you select an asset. Click the arrow in the lower right corner to expand the asset details panel, or click the info or comment icon to open the respective section. Check out the type of information available about the asset being viewed.Here are the different types of details and what they mean: Info: Find out who created the content, when it was first added, or when a new version was last uploaded. Description: What the document creator wants you to know about the asset. Engagement: Provides insight into overall peer usage by displaying in-app views, Shares, and average customer view time. Engagement is refreshed every 24 hours.The numbers reflected span over the entire lifetime of the asset. If an asset is updated, it will take about a day for data changes to appear. These metrics do not reset to zero so that all historical data is maintained. Tags: Everything added by the admin to label content for easy searching. If tag categories are used, they will appear ahead of the tags Discover More: Shows recommended learning content. Recommendations are based on whether the asset is used in one or more lessons within the Course or if the asset's title matches the title or description of the Course. Notes:- If no recommended Courses exist, the Discover More section will not show.- Only assigned, unfinished Courses will be displayed. Paths and unassigned or complete Courses will not be shown. Submit private feedback: Send thoughts, edits, and ideas for assets privately to the admin and/or author of the asset. The feedback will not be seen as a public comment. Click the Comments icon to see thoughts others have left or leave your own in the text field. Or, send your thoughts directly to your admin and the asset's author by selecting Submit private feedback to the author(s). Click the Asset Summary icon to view a quick AI-generated summary of the asset in the form of questions and answers. The number of questions and answers depends on the length of the document. Note that AI asset summaries are not supported on assets viewed in Courses. Documents uploaded before 2019 will not provide a summary.Use the thumbs up or thumbs down option to indicate if these answers were valuable. Showpad will use these responses to improve the AI model and generate better FAQs in the future. Playback speed: select a faster or slower speed To ensure the video or audio file will start playing where you left off, toggle on Remember last played position in your Account settings. The options may vary according to your package: Add: Select the entire asset or specific pages to add to one or more Showpad Collections or Shared Spaces. Note that AI asset summaries on iOS are only supported on English PDFs with enough content. They are not supported on assets viewed in Courses. Documents uploaded before 2019 will not provide a summary. Share: Generate an email or link to share the asset. Select a connected printer and settings. Tap print when ready. Share via...: Choose your connected email app and follow the prompts. Open in...: Select an app to open the asset in. Start Slideshow: Tap the screen to close the menus and view the slide show. Tap the screen again and tap the slideshow icon to stop the slideshow. Search file: Enter the text you want to search for. Tap a page containing the search term. The term will be highlighted on the page.
