Add tags to assets in your Files library Updated February 05, 2025 19:54 Tags are used to quickly categorize, manage, and find what you need. You can even use tags to automatically push assets into Smart Folders, Pages, and interactive Showpad Experiences In your Files library, you can copy and paste tags from one asset to another. This functionality lets you easily copy all the tags from one asset in a Smart Folder and paste them into another, quickly populating your Experiences with content. See how it looks Key features Label and categorize your files Use tags to filter content Copy and paste tags between files You need this to succeed Plan: eOS Expert, eOS Advanced, eOS Professional Previous plan: Showpad Content Essential or higher Permissions: Administrator, Promoted Member with Content permission The quick way Navigate to the Libraries tab in the Admin App. Select All files to open the Files library. Click on a file to open its details panel. In the tags section, click to add or adjust the asset's tags. Select the Copy or Paste & Save icons to perform the corresponding actions. Do this step by step Add or adjust tags Navigate to the Libraries tab in the Admin App. If your organization uses multiple Divisions, select the desired one from the top-left dropdown menu. Select All Files in the left-side menu to open the Files library. Click on a file to open it's details panel. In the Tags section, hover over the type of tag you wish to edit and click the pencil icon to edit. Choose to add existing tags by selecting them from the menu. Suggested tags will appear first, followed by tag categories.Recommended tags are based on the file's title to present relevant and related tags while organizing assets. If they are uncategorized, you will see them in alphabetical order.You can also add new or existing tags by typing them in. To remove a tag, click the X to the right of the tag name in the panel. Click Save changes when done. Back to Top Copy and Paste tags Navigate to the Libraries tab in the Admin App. If your organization uses multiple Divisions, select the desired one from the top-left dropdown menu. Select All Files in the left-side menu to open the Files library. Click on a file to open it's details panel At the top of the Tags section, click the Copy icon. Note: External tags cannot be copied. To paste the tags on a single asset, select the target asset from the Library, and at the top of the Tags section, click the Paste & Save icon. Choose if you want to add the copied tags to the existing tags on the asset or replace the existing tags with the copied tags. You can view how many tags will be added and unchanged. If you Replace existing tags, the number of tags to be removed will also be displayed. Click Paste once you've made your selection. To paste the tags onto multiple assets, select all target assets by checking their boxes in the Library view. Then, click Paste tags. Select Add to existing to add the pasted tags to the tags already assigned to the selected files. The tags appear in green. Select Replace all to remove the tags currently assigned to the selected files and replace them with the pasted tags. A message will appear, click Click here to see the list of tags that will be replaced. The tags appear in yellow. Click Save changes.
