The External ID provides a secondary naming option for content within the files library, making it easier to organize and update your files.For synced files, such as those integrated from cloud storage or other platforms, the External ID is uneditable, as it plays a critical role in keeping the content updated. Since synced files use the External ID for updates, they cannot be modified.
