Localize Pages with language variants (Beta) Updated November 21, 2025 17:11 Beta: This feature is available via an open beta. Please help us improve this feature by sharing feedback in the Page Builder. Help your sellers engage buyers more effectively by providing the most up-to-date content in their local language. Page localization makes this possible by establishing a single primary Page as the source of truth. From this primary Page, you can create and manage multiple language variants, eliminating the manual burden of maintaining separate Pages for each region. See how it looks Key features Create language-specific variants from a primary Page Use AI to translate Page text instantly Keep the Page structure and layout consistent across all languages Manage updates from the primary Page and review changes in each variant Easily track localized Pages in the Pages Library You need this to succeed Plan: eOS Expert, eOS Advanced, eOS Professional Legacy plan: Showpad Content Essential or higher Permissions: Administrator, Promoted Member with Content permission Prerequisites: AI-powered Page translation is available on eOS Expert, eOS Advanced, and legacy Ultimate plans. The quick way Click Libraries in the top menu and navigate to the All Pages library. Open the Page you wish to be the primary, click the language selector, and choose Add language variant. Choose a language and optionally use AI for a one-time translation. Review and edit the content within the new variant Page. Save the variant. Open, review, and save each variant whenever the structure or content of the primary Page changes. Do this step by step Create a language variant Navigate to the Library tab in the Admin App. If your organization uses Divisions, select the relevant one from the top left dropdown menu. Locate and select a Page to localize, or follow the steps in the Create a Page article. Note: Global Pages can not be localized. In the Page Builder, click the language selector dropdown in the upper right. If a single locale has already been assigned to the Page, that language is displayed in the dropdown. If no locales have been assigned or more than one locale has been assigned, Unknown language is displayed in the dropdown. Select Add language variant. In the pop-up menu, the steps vary depending on whether or not one or more locales have already been assigned to the Page: Zero or multiple locales assigned: The Assign primary language step enables you to select the Page’s main language from a list of available languages. If multiple locales have already been assigned, those languages will be displayed at the top of the list in a Current languages section. Select a language and click Continue. In the Choose language variant step, select a language from the dropdown. A single locale has been assigned: The assigned locale is automatically selected as the primary language, and you will only have the Choose language variant step. Select a language from the dropdown. Select the Use AI to provide initial translations checkbox to prefill the variant Page with automatically translated text. Note: AI-powered Page translation is available on eOS Expert, eOS Advanced, and legacy Ultimate plans. Note: AI translations are only applied when the variant is created. Any subsequent text changes must be manually translated. Click Create Variant. The builder will immediately save the primary Page and switch to the new variant. From here, you can manually modify the AI text translations and or replace assets with localized versions in your library. Click Save. Note: Once a variant is created, its locale is permanently locked to ensure that content is distributed correctly. If you need a Page for a different language, you must create a new variant with the desired locale. Tip: You can easily distinguish between primary Pages and variants in the Page Library. Primary Pages have a blue background and a star in the Languages column, while variants have a gray background. Back to Top Manage updates from the primary Page The primary Page serves as the blueprint for your localized Pages, defining the structure and layout for all linked variants. This ensures brand consistency and prevents localized content from accidentally breaking the core Page structure. Tip: You can view the link between the primary and variant Pages in the Localization tab of the details panel. When you modify the structure of a primary Page (e.g., add a new block), you'll also need to publish those changes to each of its variants. Navigate to the Library tab in the Admin App. If your organization uses Divisions, select the relevant one from the top left dropdown menu. Locate and select the primary Page you want to update. Make structural changes and click Save. A notification appears to remind you that the variants also need to be updated. Open the variant Page you need to update: From the primary Page: While still in the Page Builder, click the language selector in the top-right corner and choose the variant. From the Page Library: Navigate to the Pages library, select the Page variant, and click Edit Page. A warning icon appears next to the language selector to indicate that changes from the primary Page are ready for review. Click the icon to highlight the updated blocks. Review the changes to ensure they work with your localized content. Text additions are not propagated to the variant(s). Note: AI-powered Page translation is available on eOS Expert, eOS Advanced, and legacy Ultimate plans. Note: AI translations are only applied when the variant is created. Any subsequent text changes must be manually translated. Click Save to apply the structural updates and make them visible to users. Repeat this step as necessary for all other variants. Note: To avoid breaking the core structure between the primary and variant Pages, we recommend that you only modify the primary Page’s content and design settings of existing blocks, not add, remove, or reorder them. Back to Top Unlink variants When primary and variant Pages are linked, structural changes are not possible. However, during this Beta phase, you can unlink a variant from its primary by archiving it and then unarchiving it. This removes the structural link to the Primary Page, allowing you to edit the structure independently. Navigate to the Library tab in the Admin App. If your organization uses Divisions, select the relevant one from the top left dropdown menu. Navigate to All Pages and select the Page variant. Archive the Page: From the Page Library: Select the checkbox for the Page and click the Archive option in the bar. From the Page’s details pane: Click the Archive icon at the top. Navigate to Archived Pages and select the Page variant. Restore the Page: From the Page Library: Select the checkbox for the Page and click the Restore option in the bar. From the Page’s details pane: Click Restore. Make structural changes and click Save. Back to Top FAQs and Troubleshooting Area Subject Description Content Propagation & Translation Why doesn’t the system automatically propagate all changes from the Primary Page to the variants? Only structural changes, such as adding or deleting blocks, are propagated from the primary Page to its variants. Content and text changes are not propagated; this ensures that any customizations made to a variant's content are preserved. Can I automatically translate the changes I make to the text of the Primary Page? The AI translation functionality is designed exclusively for the initial creation of a Page variant, serving to generate a preliminary draft. The system does not currently support continuous or automatic re-translation of content modifications propagated from the primary Page. Can a primary Page have text in different languages? The primary Page should be authored in a single, defined language. However, during variant creation, the AI translation feature will process and translate the entirety of the primary Page's content into the variant's target language, irrespective of any mixed languages present on the primary Page. User Experience & Visibility The variant Page is not appearing in the Page Library. Creating a variant links it to the primary Page, but it isn't saved yet. Be sure to click the Save button in the Page Builder to add the new variant to the library. How do I recognize if a Page is localized in the Page Library? The Languages column visually distinguishes between Page types: primary Pages are highlighted with a blue background and a star icon, whereas variants are shown with a gray background. Archiving & restoring Pages What happens if you archive or restore primary and/or variant Pages? Primary Pages Archiving a primary: Archiving a primary Page will also archive all of its linked variants. Restoring a primary: Restoring a primary Page does not restore all of its linked variants. Variant Pages Archiving a variant: Archiving a variant permanently breaks its link to the primary Page. Restoring a variant: When you restore a variant, it becomes a standalone Page with no link to the primary Page. Duplicating Pages Can I duplicate my localized Pages? Duplicating either a primary or a variant Page creates a new, standalone Page with no localization links.
