Search Trends: What are users looking for? Updated November 19, 2024 19:12 Note: This article is about the new beta Admin App, which is still in development. Changes may occur. Please provide feedback directly in the beta app. This dashboard provides valuable information on how your users utilize the search functionality and insights into what they are searching for. This knowledge can assist you in refining your content and enhancing the visibility of your assets. Note: The daily refresh of the search dashboard may take longer than other dashboards due to the high volume of data that needs to be processed. Do searches return results? Details Printing options Filtering options The Division and Timeframe filters influence all sections of the dashboard. By default, all Divisions that you have access to and the current month are selected. The timeframe represents the search usage for an entire month (from the 1st to the 31st of the month). You can: Edit the timeframe and/or select a Division to see data specific to your filters. Hover over either filter and click on the three dot menu to Reset the data to the default filters or Refresh the available options. Search trends Search Events The first box displays the trend for searches by comparing the searches for the Division and timeframe you've chosen with searches in the previous month. The total number of searches made for your selection is displayed below the trend. Searches With Results In the second box, you can see the trend for searches that produced a result for the selected Division and timeframe, compared to the previous month. The percentage of searches that gave a result for your selection is displayed below the trend. Search Click Rate The third box displays the trend in the search click rate for the Division and timeframe you've chosen, compared to the previous month. The search click rate for your selection is shown below the trend.The click rate is the percentage of searches that led to a user opening a result. It’s calculated by dividing the number of clicks on a search result by the number of searches How often do users open search results? The graph displays: The current search click rate for the selected Division and timeframe. The achievable search click rate. This represents the potential improvement in click rate if you were to incorporate the keywords provided in the insight (blue) panel on the right into your naming convention. The blue insight panel displays the top keywords searched for by your users. By matching the names of your assets with these keywords, you can increase the number of clicks your content receives when users come across it in search results. Do searches return results?The graph displays: The present success rate of searches for the chosen Divisions and timeframe. This indicates the percentage of searches that yield results.the achievable search success rate. This denotes the possible enhancement in search results if The keywords given in the insight (blue) panel on the right are integrated into the naming conventions. The blue insight panel displays the top search terms that did not return any results. By matching the names of your assets with these keywords, you can increase the search success rate. Details Lastly, the Details table breaks down search terms and provides insight into what has been searched for within the selected Division and timeframe. This information can be useful for creating content and naming items. The table shows: The number of times a term was searched for, The number of users who searched for it. The search success and click rates. To export the table to CSV or Excel, hover over it and click the three dot menu. Printing The Export icon at the top right of the dashboard enables you to print or generate a PDF of the entire dashboard, filtered or unfiltered. You can also view all of your PDF exports. Print Click the Export icon and select Print. A preview is generated for your review. When ready, click the Print button. Generate a PDF Click the Export icon and select Generate PDF. A message will appear to inform you that the generation is in progress.This may take a few moments. You can close the message by clicking the X. A message is displayed when your PDF is ready. Click the Download button. Note: Navigating elsewhere during the PDF generation will disrupt the process, and you'll need to regenerate the PDF. View exports Click the Export icon and select View exports. A list of your PDF exports is displayed. Download the export by clicking on Click to download.
