Build Course and Path Completion reports with the Report Builder Updated August 05, 2026 07:00 Gain a complete view of learner progress by building custom Course and Path Completion reports. These reports bring together completion status, due dates, and scores across every level of your enablement program, from Paths and Courses down to individual lesson items. In the Report Builder, you can report on SCORM lesson item scores, alongside your other completion data. The Report Builder automatically saves your changes, so you never lose your work. To create a report, either: Click the Templates tab and select a relevant report template. Click Create Report to start from scratch and select the Course and Path Completion dataset. Apply filters to narrow your data. Select dimensions and measures to customize the table. Download or schedule the report. Refer to the dimensions and measure data field definitions as needed. Do this step by step Create a report from a template Templates take the complexity out of report creation. Each one is purpose-built for a specific report type and pre-populated with the right columns to keep your data accurate and consistently formatted. In the Admin App, go to the Analytics tab and select My Reports. Click the Templates tab. Select one of the three Course and Path Completion report templates: Course and Path completion detail: Track learner progress across Paths, Courses, and their individual items and scores in one view. Use it to pinpoint exactly where a learner has stalled, whether a Course itself is done, and whether progress is on track against Path due dates. Course completion per learner: Monitor each learner’s Course completion. Use it for a quick read on who has finished a Course and who is at risk of missing its due date. Path completion per learner: Monitor learning Path completion per learner for compliance and manager overviews. Use it to check learners against their assigned and due dates, and to give managers visibility into how their team is progressing through a Path. The report is populated with a pre-selected set of data fields that you can customize. Click Edit, update the report name if you like, and click Save to open it in the Report Builder. Back to Top Or create a report from scratch In the Admin App, go to the Analytics tab and select My Reports. Click Create Report. From the Datasets drop-down menu, select the Course and Path Completion dataset. Name your report and click Create. The Report Builder opens. Back to Top Apply filters to refine your data Use the filters panel to focus on the insights that matter most to you. Note: For the best experience, we recommend limiting your data range to the past 12 months. Organizations with very large datasets may experience slower performance when selecting broader date ranges. Add, arrange, and select filters Click View filters and select the filters you want to use. To rearrange the filter order, click the dots to the left of each filter name, then drag and drop them into the desired order. Click Save. Click a filter, then select the data you want to narrow the report to. Clear filters Clear values: To clear specific values while keeping the filter active, uncheck the selected values in the dropdown. Clear filter: To clear a filter entirely, click the X next to the filter name. Remove filters: Click the View filters drop-down menu, then uncheck the currently selected filters. Filter tips Visual cue: When a filter is applied, the field displays the number of selected values. Date ranges: A date range filter displays the specific dates next to the filter field. Back to Top Understand dimensions and measures To build custom report tables, click the Dimensions or Measures drop-down menus and select the data fields you want to include. Each field belongs to one of two types: Dimensions: Descriptive fields that identify or characterize what you are looking at, such as Course Title, Path Name, or Item Type. Typically text, numeric, or time-based. Measures: Numerical values calculated across your data, such as Courses Completed or Average Item Score. The Dimensions and Measures drop-down menus list all available data fields in expandable sections. Fields already in your table appear at the top under Selected, marked with a check mark. Dimensions are highlighted in blue with an abc or calendar icon. Measures are highlighted in green with a 123 or KPI icon. To find a specific field, use the search bar at the top of either menu. Back to Top Customize the table Analyze how learners are progressing through Courses and Paths, including their scores on SCORM lesson items, to identify completion gaps and top performers. Select data fields from the drop-down menus at the top of the report to build a table that highlights exactly what you need to see. Add and manage columns Click either the Dimensions or Measures menu, and locate the data field you want to include. Click your chosen field to add it to the table. Note:- The top field in the Dimensions list creates the rows, while additional fields create new columns.- Dimensions are available in either menu.- Dimension fields selected from the Measures list show a count. To reorder columns, click the Dimensions or Measures menu, then drag and drop the selected fields into your desired sequence. To remove a column, click the trash icon next to the field name in the menu. The changes you make to the report save automatically. You can view the date and time of the last save at the top of the Report Builder. To update the name of the report, click the name and edit it. Click the checkmark icon when done. Note: The table always displays Dimension columns on the left, followed by Measure columns, regardless of the order in which you add them. Tips for formatting Sort: Click any column header to sort the table by that field. Resize: Hover between column headers until the resize icon appears, then click and drag to adjust the width. Example Report on SCORM lesson item scores within a Course: Using the filter Lesson Item Asset Type, select SCORM. From the Dimensions menu, select the Full Name, Course Title, Lesson Title, Item Score, and Is Completed fields to break results down by learner, Course, lesson, and score. Review how each learner scored on SCORM lesson items within a Course, without switching between a separate SCORM report and your Path or Course completion data. Back to Top View, download, and schedule your report Click View to review the report without updating the columns. Adjust the filters to see the data fields in different ways. Filter changes in view mode are not saved and will not export. To download the report, click Export, then select XLSX or CSV. To schedule the report for regular email to you and/or other recipients, click Export, then select Schedule. Select the report export frequency, enter the recipient email addresses, select the export type, and click Schedule. To make permanent changes to the report, click Edit to open it in the Report Builder. To return to your list of saved reports, click the X icon.
