Enable Showpad Content ROI in MS Dynamics Updated August 05, 2026 06:00 With Content ROI, you can see how much revenue is associated with an individual piece of content within MS Dynamics. We provide the data, and you can control what you and your users see in the MS Dynamics dashboards.Using the Content ROI feature can give you and your users precious data, for example:How often prospects viewed a piece of contentHow often content was shared over time and per opportunity, account, or leadThe percentage of deals that move to the next stage when a particular file is shared. The data source for gathering all that sharing information is Showpad's Microsoft Dynamics integration. Your users need to log in with their MS Dynamics account on the Showpad app or the Web App. All the data shared is stored in MS Dynamics, allowing you to use it for building reports and dashboards.See how it looksKey featuresSee content engagement: All Showpad activities, such as content Shares and views, are logged on the corresponding Account, Contact, and Lead records in MS Dynamics.Link content to revenue: The integration automatically associates content engagement with related Opportunities, allowing you to track your content's ROI.Empower your sales team: Reps can see which content is resonating with their prospects directly within MS Dynamics, without needing to switch platforms.Gain Actionable Insights: Understand what content works best at every stage of the sales cycle to optimize your content strategy and drive results.Attribute activity to the right seller: Each Showpad activity is owned by the MS Dynamics user who shared the content and, where available, is linked to the logged MS Dynamics task, so you can report on content engagement per rep.You need this to succeedPlan: eOS Expert, eOS Advanced, eOS ProfessionalLegacy plan: Showpad Content UltimatePermissions: AdministratorPrerequisites:Admin privileges in MS DynamicsThe Showpad Insights App version 2.1.0 or later installed in your MS Dynamics environmentThe Showpad User security role (or a custom role with Read access to the Showpad Activity table) assigned to every user who shares content (required so that Showpad Activities can be assigned to them)The Showpad Insights App installed in your MS Dynamics environmentConfig: MS Dynamics integration uses the Showpad app available in AppSource, or version 2.1.0 of the on-premise installationfileMS Dynamics tenant URL and Entra tenant IDEach MS Dynamics user’s primary email address must match their Showpad user email addressThe quick wayIn MS Dynamics, configure an integration user with the Showpad Content ROI security roleIn MS Dynamics, assign the Showpad User security role to the users who share contentIn the Admin App, open Settings, scroll to Integrations, and select CRMIn your MS Dynamics connection, enable the Content ROI reporting data syncSign in with your MS Dynamics accountDo this step by stepMS Dynamics S2S SecurityAccess your MS Dynamics platform with administrator credentials.Open the Power Platform Admin Center, click Manage, and select your environment.Open Settings from the top menu.Expand the Users + permissions section, select Application users. Showpad matches the seller to an MS Dynamics user by primary email address, then assigns the record to that user immediately after it is created. For that assignment to succeed, the MS Dynamics user must be allowed to own a Showpad Activity record. Make sure each user who shares content:Is an enabled MS Dynamics user with a primary email address identical to their Showpad user email address.Has a security role that grants Read access to the Showpad Activity table, at User level (own records) or higher. Read is the only privilege needed. The user does not need Write, Create, or Assign rights on the table. The Showpad User role included in Showpad Insights App 2.1.0 grants exactly this. If you use custom security roles, add the same Read privilege on Showpad Activity to them.Note: Assigning the owner is a separate, non-blocking step. If a user cannot own the record (for example, the role is missing, the user is disabled, or the email addresses do not match), the activity is still created and all content and view data is still logged. However, the owner stays set to the Showpad application user. Nothing fails and no error is shown to the seller, so the tip to look for is Showpad Activities that are all owned by the application user instead of your sellers. To assign the role:Open the Power Platform Admin Center, click Manage, and select your environment.Open Settings, expand Users + permissions, and select Users.Select the users who share content from Showpad, click Manage security roles, select Showpad User, and click Save.Note: Because the Showpad User role grants User level access, sellers see only the Showpad Activities they own. Use the Showpad Administrator role (or another role with organization-level Read on the Showpad tables) for admins and sales managers who need to see all Content ROI data.Showpad Admin AppIn the Admin App, click the gear icon to open Settings.Scroll to Integrations, then select CRM.Click on the MS Dynamics connection you previously created.Navigate to the Showpad data to CRM section and click Edit.In the Showpad data to CRM section, select whether Content ROI reporting data can be logged to your MS Dynamics environment.
