Making the Showpad Insights App visible in MS Dynamics Updated November 08, 2024 20:31 Note: This article is about the new beta Admin App, which is still in development. Changes may occur. Please provide feedback directly in the beta app. After installing the Showpad Insights App and enabling Showpad activities for the MS Dynamics integration in the Admin App, you need to make the integration visible for users. In this article, we will talk about the user roles and the forms, needed to display sharing activity in MS Dynamics. Configure the role so users see the Showpad Insights App on their forms. The Showpad User role allows users to see the Showpad Insights App. In Account, select the form that you want to use with the Showpad Insights App. Change the Form order in Entities, Account form, Form order, and put the form with the Showpad Insights App on top. Go to Customizations, Publish All Customizations to make sure that everybody sees this default form. Do this step by step Use forms to display the Showpad's Insights App Sign in as an admin on MS Dynamics. Select the Manage Roles option. Configure the role so users see the Showpad Insights App on their forms. The Showpad User role allows users to be able to see the Showpad Insights App. If you want to allocate the Showpad User security role to multiple users at the sametime, you can select these users by selecting the desired users one after one. Each selected record will have a blue shading. Once selected, you can click Manage Roles and select the Showpad User role. Click Ok. Once the security role is allocated to the desired users, it is necessary to enable the security roles for the forms that contain the Showpad App. Go to Settings, Customizations, Customize the system. On the Navigation pane on the left side of the window, click the entity (Contacts for example) that contains the form with the Showpad App and expand to open the Forms and click Enable Security Roles. Select the Showpad User and click Ok. From now on every user with the Showpad User security role will be able to see the Showpad App for this form. The Showpad Administrator security role is meant for Showpad Administrators. This role gives users full access to the Showpad entities which permits the user to see the Showpad App on the forms as well as manage the settings. To give a user the Showpad Administrator role you can follow the same procedure. As for the Showpad User role, it is also necessary to enable the Showpad Administrator role for the desired forms. You can find this in Customization, Entities, Account Form, Security Roles. Select the form you want to use with the Showpad Insights App. Go to Account. This is necessary to make it visible to users in their forms. Change the Form order in Entities, Account form, Form order, and put the form with the Showpad Insights App on top. Go to Customizations, Publish All Customizations to make sure that everybody sees this default form. Integrate Showpad in your own, customized forms Open Settings, Customizations. Click Customize the System. We'll add the Showpad App in the default Account form. Open the Forms configuration window by clicking the form Account. Go to Insert and click Web Resource. Add the following data: Web resource: set lookup value to spd_/pages/showpadinsightsapp.html Name: showpadinsightsapp Label: showpadinsightsapp Click OK. The Showpad App will appear in the form. Save and publish the form. If you now open the regular Account form, you'll see the Showpad App here as well.
