Please share your feedback so we can improve your experience.Use the Brainshark settings to set company-wide defaults for how Brainsharks behave in Showpad. From here, you control presentation properties, the player and viewer experience, and the format of question slides. A shared pronunciation dictionary also improves AI-generated narration across your Brainsharks.Note: The settings may take a moment to load. Configure PropertiesThe Properties tab sets company-wide general properties for Brainsharks.SettingDescriptionAuthor Per SlideSelect Allow authors to set an author per slide to let authors add a different author on individual slides.Email Receipts on URLSelect Enable email receipts on URL to send a receipt when a Brainshark is viewed through a URL. Choose Send email receipt before viewing, Send email receipt after viewing, or both.Background AudioSelect Allow use of background audio in presentations to let authors add background audio. Select Allow authors to upload background audio files for use in their presentations to let them upload their own audio files.Save Uploaded PPT FilesSelect Save uploaded PPT files as attachments in a presentation to keep the original PowerPoint file as a downloadable attachment. Configure Player & ViewerThe Player & Viewer tab controls how Brainsharks look and behave when sellers open them.SettingDescriptionAppearanceSet the Default theme for the player: Modern light, Modern dark, Classic light, or Classic dark. Select Allow authors to override default theme to let authors change it per Brainshark.Slide NotesSelect Default setting for Read Slide Notes to make slide notes readable in the player. Select Allow authors to override default to let authors change it. Select Open slide notes by default to expand the notes panel when the player launches.CaptionsSelect Show captions when player is launched to display closed captions automatically. Select Allow authors to override this setting to let authors change it.FAQSelect Display FAQ to show the FAQ in the viewer. Select Allow authors to override default to let authors change it.Print SlidesSelect Allow authors to enable slide printing to let authors turn on slide printing for their Brainsharks. Configure Question SlidesThe Question Slides tab sets the format for company question slides. It has two sections: Modern question slides and Legacy question slides.To configure Modern question slides:Under Slide colors, set the Default background color. Choose Match player theme to follow the player's light or dark theme, or Custom color to set your own.Select Allow authors to override default background color to let authors change the background per question slide.Use the Slide preview with the Light player and Dark player tabs to check how questions look in each theme.To configure Legacy question slides, use the following settings:SettingDescriptionBackground imageSelect Use custom background image for question slides to replace the default background with your own image.Background colorSet the slide background color. The default is #EEEEEE.Text colorSet the question and answer text color. The default is #000000.Poll graph colorSet the color of the poll result bars. The default is #336699.To configure additional settings:Under Retries, select Allow authors to specify retries for questions to let authors give viewers more than one attempt at a question.Under Likert scale default labels, set the five default labels used for Likert-scale questions. Each label is limited to 30 characters. The defaults are Strongly Disagree, Disagree, Neutral, Agree, and Strongly Agree.Select Allow authors to override defaults to let authors edit these labels per question. Related articles 2026
