Setting up the Showpad and Slack integration

Note: This article is about the new beta Admin App, which is still in development. Changes may occur. Please provide feedback directly in the beta app.

Integrating Showpad and Slack enhances your team's productivity and streamlines organizational communication. This integration brings together the dynamic features of Showpad with the real-time messaging capabilities of Slack.

After the integration is configured, your users will receive direct messages the following Showpad activities in Slack:

• An email share was viewed
• An email share was reshared

For Shared Spaces, users will receive direct messages Slack notifications when a buyer:

• joined
• visited
• added a comment
• invited a new participant
• requested access
• adds a Next Steps module or performs an action within one

You need this to succeed

• The beta Admin App enabled

Do this step by step

Installing the Slack Integration App

1. Open the Admin App. Click the gear icon to open Settings.
   
2. Select Manage Apps from the side menu in the Showpad Apps section.
   
3. Click Install App.
   
4. Select Slack Integration and enable automatic updates. Click Install.
   
5. Once installation is confirmed, the App is added to the Showpad Apps menu, and its details page is displayed. The details page displays the App's Extensions (in this case, Admin and User configuration settings) and where the App is used. You can also disable automatic updates or uninstall the App.
   

Installing the Showpad App in Slack

1. In the Admin App, select Slack from the Showpad Apps menu.
   
2. Click the button to authorize the Slack integration.
   
3. Allow access.
   
4. Accept the authorization request in Showpad.
   
5. The Showpad App is now installed in Slack. In the Admin App, you can enable or disable the integration for everyone.
   
6. Showpad is visible in Slack, and users can configure further notifications from within the User Settings in the Web app.

Uninstalling the integration

1. In the Admin App, select Slack from the Showpad Apps menu.

2. Disable the App.

3. On the Manage Apps tab, select Slack.

4. Click the Uninstall button.

5. Confirm.

6. In the Slack App Directory, select Remove App.
