Create Content Profiles for Dynamic Content Filtering Updated July 09, 2026 15:17 Great content libraries offer a lot of material for various needs. This can overwhelm users at times. By creating Content Profiles, you can tailor the content your users see based on criteria such as their location, languages, and tags. Unlike tags, which are topics that can be applied to different assets for easy filtering, Content Profiles provide more comprehensive information, such as details like locale and language. They allow users to see the best content, saving them time. Content Profiles are essential for Dynamic Content Filtering. When Dynamic Content Filtering is enabled at the Experience level, it eliminates the need to duplicate Experiences in various languages. For example, you can assign a single Experience, and users will only see content that aligns with their Content Profile. This feature also extends to internal Pages. When enabled, it allows all assets on the Page to be filtered for internal users when Dynamic Content Filtering is turned on. Back to Top Filter combination logic reference How filters combine What this means for your content How rules work together When you use the Match ANY setting, all the options you add (like language and country) are thrown into one combined pool. Showpad checks this entire pool at the same time using "either/or" logic, rather than running separate, independent checks. For example, if your pool contains English and the Netherlands, a file will show up if it matches either English OR the Netherlands. This is why a Spanish-language file will still appear if it happens to be tagged for the Netherlands. Block rules come first Match NONE is not a separate rule block; it is simply a setting within your single filter configuration. However, the system evaluates your Match NONE settings first, before looking at what to display via Match ANY or Match ALL. Instant hiding Because exclusions are checked first, a Match NONE setting takes effect immediately. If a file matches something you want to hide, the system stops evaluating it right away and the Match ANY or Match ALL checks are never even reached for that file. Exact language matches Language settings look for exact text matches. For example, if your files are tagged with regional codes like es-ES (Spanish for Spain) instead of just es (Spanish), you must include those exact regional codes in your settings to make sure those files are filtered correctly.
