View and use Brainsharks (Beta)

Note: Brainsharks as assets in the Content library is a Beta feature and still under development. Some options may change. Please share your feedback so we can improve your experience.

As a seller, you open a Brainshark from an Experience and play it in the Asset Viewer, just like you open any other asset in Showpad. A Brainshark is a narrated, interactive presentation with slides, supporting attachments, and an optional test, so you can learn from it or present it to your audience.

You need this to succeed

Note: Brainsharks play online in both the Web App and the Windows Desktop App. Stay connected to the internet to open and present them.

The quick way

1. Open the Experience that contains the Brainshark.
2. Open the folder or Smart Folder, then click the Brainshark to open it.
3. Use the player controls to play and navigate the Brainshark.
4. Optionally, click Present to present it, or add it to a Collection to share it internally.

Do this step by step

Open a Brainshark

1. In the Web App or Windows Desktop App, open the Experience that contains the Brainshark.
2. Open the folder or Smart Folder where the Brainshark is stored.
3. Click the Brainshark to open it in the Asset Viewer.

Play and navigate the Brainshark

The player shows the presentation on the right and a navigation panel on the left.

• Content tab: the structure of the Brainshark, grouped into chapters (for example, Welcome, Details, and Test Your Knowledge), with each slide and its duration. Click any slide to jump to it.
• Attachments tab: supporting files the author added, such as a one-pager PDF with extra sales information. Click an attachment to open or download it.
• Playback controls at the bottom let you play, move between slides, turn captions on or off with the CC button, adjust volume and playback speed, and go full screen. A presenter video plays alongside the slides when the author added one.

Note: The content structure, chapters, and any test are set up by the admin or author, so what you see varies per Brainshark.

Present a Brainshark

1. Open the Brainshark.
2. Click Present to display it full screen for your audience.

Share a Brainshark internally

You can share a Brainshark with colleagues by adding it to a Collection.

1. Open the Brainshark.
2. Click the Add to Collections icon in the toolbar.
3. Select a Collection, or click Create New Collection.
4. Click Add.

Note: Brainsharks are shared internally only. Use Collections to make one available to colleagues.

Leave a comment or send feedback

1. Open the Brainshark and open the Comment panel.
2. Enter your comment to start a conversation with the admin or author.
3. To send feedback only to the author, click Submit private feedback.
4. The Info panel also shows when the Brainshark was uploaded, its authors, and engagement stats such as in-app views.
