To create a report, either: Click the Templates tab and select a relevant report template. Click Create Report to start from scratch and select one of the three report types from the competencies dataset. Apply filters to refine your data. Customize your report table. Alternatively, choose a chart type to visualize your report. Save, download, and schedule. Reference the data and filter definitions Do this step by step Create a report from a template We recommend starting with a template to ensure your data is accurate and easy to read. Each template is designed for a specific report type, automatically organizing your columns to match the dataset. This pre-configured foundation prevents the formatting issues or mismatched data that can occur when building a report from scratch. In the Admin App, go to the Analytics tab and select Reports. Click the Templates tab. Select one of three Competencies report templates: Assessments In Progress & Completed: Monitor the completion status of competency assessments for different teams and roles. Assessments Not Started: Identify users who have not yet started their assigned competency assessments. Assessment Scores & Comments: Analyze assessment scores and review manager comments to identify strengths and skill gaps. In the upper left of the Report Builder, click Untitled Report to name your report. The report will be set with your chosen report type and populated with a pre-selected set of dimensions that you can customize. Back to Top Or create a report from scratch In the Admin App, go to the Analytics tab and select Reports. Click Create Report. In the upper left of the Report Builder, click Untitled Report to name your report. Click Report type and select one of the three report types from the Competencies dataset: You can create three types of Team Competencies reports. Each report type table starts with a pre-selected set of dimensions that you can customize: Assessments In Progress & Completed: Monitor the completion status of competency assessments for different teams and roles. Assessments Not Started: Identify users who have not yet started their assigned competency assessments. Assessment Scores & Comments: Analyze assessment scores and review manager comments to identify strengths and skill gaps. Back to Top Apply filters to refine your data Use the filters panel to narrow your report data. Note: For the best experience when using the Report Builder, we recommend limiting your data range to the past 12 months. Organizations with very large datasets may experience slower performance when selecting broader date ranges. Each report type defaults to a different set of filters: Assessments In Progress & Completed: Assessment updated: Select either Last 30 days, Last 90 days, Last year, This year, or Custom and choose a date range from the calendar. Competency roles: Select one or more Competency roles. User groups: Include or exclude specific user groups. Assessments Not Started: Date: Select either Last 30 days, Last 90 days, Last year, This year, or Custom and choose a date range from the calendar. Competency roles: Select one or more Competency roles. Assessment Scores & Comments: Assessment updated: Select either Last 30 days, Last 90 days, Last year, This year, or Custom and choose a date range from the calendar. Competency roles: Select one or more Competency roles. User groups: Include or exclude specific user groups. Tip: To ensure accurate reporting, select the exact date range of your review cycle or desired reporting period. The data shown is based on activity within that window. If the date range is too broad, you may see outdated or misleading information.Example: A user submitted a review in January, but your review cycle runs from June to September. If you don’t limit the report to that timeframe, their January review may appear as the most recent, giving the false impression that they completed the current cycle. Add and manage filters Click View filters and select the filters you want to use. To rearrange the filter order, click the dots to the left of each filter name, then drag and drop them into the desired order. Click Save. Clear filters Clear values: To clear specific values, uncheck the selected values in the dropdown. Clear filter: To clear a filter entirely, click the X next to the filter name. Filter tips Visual cue: When a filter is applied, the field displays the number of selected values. Date ranges: A date range filter displays the specific dates next to the filter field. Definitions: Filter options vary by report type. For detailed descriptions of all available filters, see the filter reference table. Note: Filters apply to all chart types and persist when you save the report. Back to Top Customize the table While viewing your report as a table, you can customize which dimensions appear and in what order. Add report fields: Drag data fields from the left menu onto the Dimensions configuration slot. Reorder columns: Click the Dimensions slot, then drag and drop the fields into the desired order. Remove a column: Click the Dimensions slot, then click the X icon next to the field you want to remove. Note: Selecting a different chart type before saving will clear any customization you’ve applied to the report table. Back to Top Visualize your data with charts While Team Competency reports are preselected to display as a table, you can create these report types using any of the available chart formats: Chart Type Best Used For Line chart Track assessment submission trends over time to monitor review cycle progress. Bar chart Compare engagement metrics, such as total shares or downloads, across different assets or seller Divisions. Column chart Compare average scores across competencies to identify strengths and development areas. Pie Chart Show the distribution of assessment statuses (open vs. closed) within your organization. Treemap Chart Visualize the proportion of users in different competency roles to understand team composition. Bubble Chart Display the number of assessments by competency role and status. KPI Highlight key metrics like total assessments completed or average competency scores. To customize a chart: Select your desired chart type. Set filters to narrow your data Drag a report field from the left column onto a configuration slot at the top of the chart. Using the Assessment updated filter, set a date range. Drag the ‘Manager Review Score’ to the Measure slot. Next, select a date interval (Year, Quarter, Month, Week, or Day) below the ‘ Manager Review Submitted At’ field, and drag it to the X axis slot. Finally, Drag the ‘Competency Name’ to the Group By slot to see separate lines for each competency being tracked. To save your report as a customized chart and download an image file, click Save & download and select PNG. Learn more about chart types. Back to Top Save, download, and schedule your report When you are satisfied with your report, click Save. If you have not already named the report, give your report a descriptive name and click Save. To download the report, click Download and select either XLSX or CSV. To schedule the report to be emailed to you and/or other recipients regularly, click Schedule. Select the report export frequency, enter the recipient email addresses, select the export type, and click Schedule. To return to your list of saved reports, click the X icon. Use the descriptions below to understand how each report is structured and what each column represents. Report types Assessments In Progress & Completed Assessments Not Started Assessment Scores & Comments Assessments In Progress & Completed This report provides a snapshot of assessments that are in progress or completed within a specified timeframe. It shows the latest assessment and review status for each user and manager, along with relevant dates and identifiers for tracking progress. Each row represents a unique assessment for a user in a competency role. Field Name Data Type Description Assessment Identifier Text Unique ID for the assessment in standard UUID format. Assessment Status Text Overall status of the assessment, reflecting the progress of both the user and their manager. Possible values: open: Either the user or the manager's review has a status of draft or no activity. closed: Both the user and the manager have submitted their reviews. Assessment Updated At Date Date and time when the most recent update was made to the assessment by either the user or manager. In ISO 8601 format. Select a date interval: Year Quarter Month Week Day Competency Role Text User's position in the organization, defined when setting up Team Competencies in the Admin App. Not the same as Showpad role. Competency Role Identifier Text Unique ID for the Competency Role in standard UUID format. Manager Email Address Text Email address of the manager responsible for the user group assigned to the role and competencies. Not the same as direct manager. Manager Full Name Text Name of the manager responsible for the user group assigned to the role and competencies. Not the same as direct manager. Manager Review Started At Date Date and time the manager began their review of the user in ISO 8601 format. Empty when Manager Review Status is no activity. Assessments Not StartedThis report lists users assigned to the selected competency roles and tracks whether their manager has started an assessment or updated a review. The data shows one row per user, per role, per user group, per date within the selected time range. For each date, the report indicates whether an assessment was started or a manager review was updated on that specific date. When an activity occurs, the status will show TRUE for that date.
