Guide to ACB templates Updated March 11, 2025 16:06 The Automated Content Builder (ACB) app streamlines the creation of customized documents and presentations, perfectly aligned with each prospect’s context and industry needs. It automatically integrates customer data into marketing-approved templates, delivering personalized, high-impact content in seconds. Templates used within ACB are available in Microsoft PowerPoint or Word formats, featuring placeholders for dynamic content. Google Slides and Docs can be directly imported into the Library from Google Drive, and they will automatically convert to PowerPoint or Word formats (PPTX or DOCX) when used in the ACB. Each template’s placeholders are connected to preconfigured data nodes, which act as data retrieval connectors. When a user generates a document, the relevant data is seamlessly pulled and inserted into the template’s placeholders. This automation not only saves valuable time but also ensures that brand standards are consistently upheld across all materials. Google Slides or Docs directly imported to the Library from Google Drive are automatically converted to PPTX or DOCX format when used in the Automated Content Builder. Placeholders Codes added to templates that will be replaced by real-time data when a document is created with the Automated Content Builder. They are identified by curly braces: {example}. Transformers Codes that can be added to templates to apply modifications to the data in placeholders, such as formatting date and time, numbers, currency, or text. JavaScript is used to configure transformers. They can be used in placeholders as: {placeholder | transformer}. Data nodes Connectors replacing template placeholders with pertinent data during the document generation process. The currently supported data nodes include Showpad User details, Salesforce, Forms, Data Sources (Salesforce Query and External API), and custom JavaScript. Data Sources They are components used to pull in data from external systems and can be used in data nodes. We currently support Salesforce Object Query and external token-based API that returns JSON or Binary (used for images). Data Stores They are table-like components used to pull text and asset data from Showpad and can be used in data nodes. Secrets They are used to store confidential data, such as API keys, Tokens, etc. They are held in a secure and encrypted storage solution in the Automated Content Builder’s back-end and avoid having to configure these confidential data in plaintext.
