Configure Showpad notifications in Gong

With the Gong integration, Showpad Engagement Activities will be visible on the Gong Deals timeline. This is a one-way communication from Showpad to Gong.

After the integration is configured, your users will see the following Showpad activities in Gong for email shares:

• An email share was sent
• An email share was viewed
• An email share was reshared

For Shared Spaces, users see notifications in Gong when a buyer:

• was invited
• joined
• visited
• added a comment
• added content
• requested access
• adds a Next Steps module or performs an action within one

You need this to succeed

The quick way

1. Install the Gong Integration App on Showpad.
2. Using the admin user, open the Web App, then User Settings, and follow the instructions.

Do this step by step

1. Open the Admin App and click the gear icon to open Settings.
2. In the Showpad Apps section, select Manage Apps.
3. Click Install App.
4. Select the Gong Integration app, enable automatic updates, and click Install.
5. Once installation is confirmed, the App is added to the Showpad Apps menu, and its details page is displayed. The details page displays the App's Extensions (in this case, Admin configuration settings) and where the App is used. You can also disable automatic updates or uninstall the App.
6. Open the Gong tab from within the Showpad Apps menu to authorize the Gong integration.
7. The integration is now set up.
8. Gong will link Showpad engagement activities to a deal and show them on the Gong Deals timeline if:
   
   • The deal has been synced from the CRM to Gong (This can take a few hours.)
   • The used recipient email address exists as a contact on the deal in the CRM system and has been synced to Gong (This can take a few hours).
   • Deals are not closed and have a close date in the future.
   • Gong ignores internal email addresses (remember to consider this for any tests you run).

Note: Showpad will retry sending the engagement activity to Gong for up to 15 hours. This covers for late syncing of opportunities and contacts from the CRM system to Gong. If activity for a deal is not correctly shown on the Gong Deals timeline (while activities for other deals are correctly shown), you should reach out to Gong support.
