Controlling File Type in Externally Sharing My Files
Hello --
I've tried troubleshooting this on my own and looked around the help library so I think I know the answer, but checking here as a last resort.
Is there any way for my BD users to control the type of file format when they share a personal 'My File' with an external user? There's instances when they have custom PPT presentations to share out after a meeting but don't want to send the native PPT file with notes available so a PDF version is preferred. In the central asset library I can control what files get shared externally only as PDF but have had no luck with personal files.
One of the workarounds I can think of is having the user save the PPT as a PDF and then upload that file separately, but it defeats the purpose of being able to personalize templated presentations within Showpad via Office Online. Plus, my sales partners aren't fans of additional steps to take. The other is coaching the team to turn off the download capabilities when sending. I am not a fan of that as it forces our prospects/clients to only view in browser after the meeting as already happened.
Is this capability possible to get integrated in the product improvement roadmap or does anyone have any ways I am missing?

Hi Patrick! Thank you for reaching out with your post. I believe that step 6 of our Help Center article may be useful to you: https://help.showpad.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000412145-Enable-Showpad-features-using-Admin-Settings
In the Admin dashboard, beneath Admin Settings, select Features. You will find the Personal Uploads section, where you can select Advanced Options. See if the checkbox is enabled to Restrict downloads to PDF. Uncheck this setting, and it should free up file formats outside of PDFs.
If this doesn't solve the issue, feel free to click the Help button in the lower righthand corner. A few clicks will allow you to contact our Support team, who will be happy to assist you further. Have a great day!
