Episode Seven: Pitch perfect Updated September 14, 2023 20:22 Previously on Showpad's Onboarding Guide... In the previous episode, we covered the topic of creating courses and paths as tools for learning and coaching. You learned how to add content to courses and create tests to assess users' understanding of the information. Also, you were introduced to that concept of paths that help organize courses and tasks in a comprehensive way. This time on... Episode seven covers Showpad Coach's PitchIQ offering - a tool that leverages cues and audio/video to practice sales conversations and obtain feedback from managers and peers. This feature saves time by allowing sales reps to record and review their pitches at their convenience. You will also frame the criteria by which these submissions are assessed so you can customize what benchmarks you want to set for your teams. Configure PitchIQ settings before assigning to learners Similar to Course set up and user management, you will need to determine the appropriate settings for the PitchIQ section of Showpad Coach. This will include which form of pitch you would like users to submit. For example, do you want sales reps to only provide an audio recording of their pitch? Or is a video recording a better format for your coaching needs? Furthermore, if a learner submits a video you can decide if you’ll allow them the ability to download their footage for use in other environments. Be sure to provide a prompt in the presentation goal field so that participants are aware of the expectations for their pitch. A target time is a soft recommendation to learners about the approximate time for a recording to be optimal. Don’t worry - if they go over or under, Showpad Coach will still continue recording their pitch! Click here to learn more about setting up PitchIQ Setting the standard for PitchIQ metrics Metrics set the standard for where you expect learners to focus their efforts when recording a pitch in Showpad Coach. There are suggested criteria to grade on but that is by no means the limitation of what can be listed. Think of the end goal of a specific pitch prompt and tailor your metrics around that goal ensuring you provide a wide range of areas to assess when you are picking the criteria for a PitchIQ assignment. You are permitted up to 20 metrics and you choose five of those to grade on when setting up a specific PitchIQ. In this section, you also decide who grades and reviews the submissions. The auto-assign setting saves you time by automatically designating managers to review their teams. In addition, you are able to add admins and the learner’s peers to the PitchIQ review panel.Click here to see more about choosing metrics and designating a PitchIQ panel Providing meaningful feedback for PitchIQ submissions Helping your reps improve their sales conversations begins by coaching and providing observations on their strengths and noting areas that could use improvement. In the previous section, you chose the specific metrics you wanted to use for this PitchIQ assignment. When you are reviewing pitches, those metrics will be available for you to assess individually. While we provide a toggle for each metric that allows you a spectrum of grading options, it is highly recommended that you utilize the positive and constructive feedback boxes to provide more in-depth and contextual comments so the learner has a strong understanding of the feedback you are providing. Once you’ve reviewed a pitch, you can view details like the average review score for that learner and get an overview of who still needs to complete their pitches. You can trigger reminders from this section for those learners as well. Click here to explore the details of providing scores for PitchIQ In the next chapter... Now that you’ve discovered how to create courses and build out paths, it's time to explain to your users how they should use the Showpad app. Follow the next guide to learn how structuring your content or go back to the onboarding index.
