Leaving feedback is a helpful tool among teammates, and not always something that needs to be public, which is why we will soon roll out the option for Showpad users to give private feedback to admins and asset authors. It's a great way to interact behind the scenes for the greater good of your library of assets.
Users can drop feedback that will go to both your Showpad administrator and the author of the asset, provided they have access to the library as an administrator or promoted user.
Providing feedback as a user
The process to leave a comment as private feedback for the author begins at the asset. Expanding the asset detail pane will show the same stats as usual with the added option to Submit private feedback to the author(s). You will see this on both the Details and Comments tabs when viewing an asset's information.
Once some characters are typed into the message box, the user can submit. They can also cancel the message composition at any time.
Receiving feedback as an author
When a user submits feedback, the author will receive an email with their message and the chance to visit that asset in the Showpad library. If an author does not have access to the Library in the Online Platform, they will not receive an e-mail detailing the feedback. If the author has access as an admin or Promoted Member, they can click View in Showpad to take a look at the asset with the user's messsage.
View in Showpad will take the author to that specific asset with the new Feedback tab of the detail pane visible. Authors can choose to mark feedback as resolved or dismiss it. Either option gives the author a chance to reply back to the submitter with details.
Feedback is only seen by the administrators and promoted members who have access to the library of content. You can see at a glance what feedback has been Dismissed and Resolved in the Feedback tab of the asset detail pane.
Tracking feedback as an administrator
If you're an administrator that has a hard time staying on top of emails - you are not alone! We are rolling out a new Recent Activities dashboard you can select from the Dashboard. This page will allow you as an admin to see what feedback has been left on assets, which is particularly helpful if there is no author listed for the asset, or if that author does not have access to the content Library.
The Recent Activities tab will allow admins to see Showpad action at a glance. Activities can be filtered by Types, File Authors, and Divisions. The Recent Activities page will always show activities that happened within the last 30 days, with time stamps under the activity description.
Here are the Activity Types and what they mean:
- Comments: Public comments left by users on assets
- Expired content: Assets that disappear for users after a certain date will appear here when they have expired within the past 30 days
- Feedback: Private feedback sent to authors is visible here as well
-
Likes: See when a user has given an asset a thumbs up
- New Content: Assets uploaded within the past 30 days
- Released Content: Assets that were pre-scheduled to release will appear here at the time designated
Admins can also filter by Division and File Authors. Making changes, viewing data, responding to feedback, and editing assets is as easy as clicking "Go to Library" when hovering over the activity. This button will take you to the most relevant location within the Library based on the type of activity being viewed.
