All the details
If you’re the admin of an instance with one division, you will notice new permission options you can grant for any user, related to content management, management of Spotlights and announcements, user management, and reporting.
Instead of jumping straight into the Present tab after signing in, your users will see a new Home screen. This home screen offers two discovery types: active and passive.
Active discovery: Users can type in the search bar and search for specific content.
Passive discovery: Users are presented with new content, created by you with Spotlight messages, as well as by recommendations.
This is how the Home Screen looks like for your users:
The Recommended for you section will be recommendations based off individual users. Users will see up to 8 recommendations at any time. The asset tile will show the title of the asset and the description of the asset, if available. As an admin, you can edit the titles and descriptions of assets in the Library.
You will be able to add a custom login logo in the Features tab in the Admin Settings.
This new type of announcement allows you, as an admin, to push highlights to reps’ home screens via the Collaboration tab. You can display this content or message to all users in an account, or to specific channels or groups.
Spotlights will include a subject and message, as well as an image or assets. Users will be able to view up to seven Spotlights at a time, and when an eighth is published, the oldest message will be removed from the home screen.
This is how your users will see the Spotlight message on their Home Screen:
Within the Privacy page in your admin settings, you will be able to have users logged out of Showpad automatically after a set period of inactivity. Use the toggle to choose how many hours of inactivity will cause a user to be logged out.
The newly released platform will provide support for multiple single sign-on providers in one instance. This means that customers with de-centralized teams or other reasons to utilize more than one SSO provider cross-company can now configure all of their providers into Showpad Coach for easier user management and login flows. This will include support for providers like Okta, PingOne, Google Authentication, and Azure AD.
New Content Recommendations API
Developers will be able to use the content recommendation API endpoint in Experience Apps to surface new, popular, trending, or similar assets for users, as well as new and popular Experiences.
As an admin creating new users, you will have the option to select their role as Manager, Admin, or User. If you select Manager, you will have the option to assign groups to the manager. The manager role will make it clear which users report to which managers within the organization.
Note: We recommend you to take a look at the Preparing for the Platform Release for Showpad users article as well. This shows how the updates will look from their side.
