What to expect
The course building experience in Showpad Coach is getting a refresh, and will soon be more simplified and flexible, creating a seamless course creation experience for you as an admin. You will find the course creation functionality you’re familiar with enhanced with a friendlier new UI, broken into three sections: Build, Assign, Review & Publish. The new drag and drop interface will make it quick and easy to add the modules you want to include in your course, and you'll build the course structure all in a single page. From the user side, your sales reps will still see the same coaching and course experience they are familiar with today.
When creating a new course, you will be presented with multiple options to customize the structure. Select to use a blank template so you can start from scratch, or the standard template (which will have one lesson, one test, and one PitchIQ). You can also choose to copy an existing course or upload a SCORM course.
Same as today, courses can consist of sections and lessons, one PitchIQ, and/or one test or survey, in that order. Use the drag and drop functionality to reorder sections and lessons to organize everything to your liking.
For test and survey creation, we’re adding a new option to duplicate questions so you can get more from your initial efforts and then tweak where needed. You can also reorder question answers and collapse questions you aren’t working on, making everything a little easier.
You can view the settings panel for any module by clicking within the module block. This will allow you to see the settings as you work alongside in the course, or close them out for a full view of the course builder.
The option to assign a user as an SME (Subject matter expert) will be removed with the release of the updated course builder, as it was an unutilized feature. Instead, admins can grant promoted user access to the individual they want to contribute to a course. Lastly, the option to allow users to download lessons offline on their mobile devices will be removed, due to usage.
Once the updated course builder experience is enabled in your Showpad instance, you can start creating right away. If you edit an already existing course in your instance, you will still be leveraging the new course builder.
