Deleting a user Updated August 02, 2024 18:38 In Showpad, you can permanently revoke a user's access by deleting their account. This action, including access to Content and Coach, may be necessary when a user leaves the company or no longer requires access. When you delete a user, the following actions occur: All of the user's My Files and Collections content is permanently removed. Path/Course progress is deleted. Shared Spaces owned by the user are removed. The user's attribution as the author of assets is removed. User analytics associated with the user are deleted. You gain an additional license when deleting a user. Note: In the Reports tab, the In-App Views associated with the deleted user will be preserved under 'Deleted User' in the analytics. Additionally, once the user is deleted, any Shares they created for prospects will no longer be accessible. However, comments made by a deleted user in Shared Spaces owned by other users will not be deleted. Note: Alternatively, if you wish to temporarily revoke a user's access to Showpad, you can choose to deactivate their account. This action will preserve all user-related content, Shared Spaces, and user analytics. Do this step by step Preparation Please understand that any personal content stored by the user in My Files and created Collections that are shared with colleagues will be removed. Administrators cannot transfer Shared Spaces. Before deleting a user, ensure they transfer any Shared Spaces to another active Showpad user. Tip: As an admin, you can view the Shared Spaces owned by the user by navigating to the Reports tab, selecting Shared Spaces engagement, and filtering by Owner. Delete a single user Click the Users page from the top menu. Select the Users tab. Select the user(s) you want to delete. Click the Delete icon in the user information panel. Choose Delete then click Confirm. If you select Deactivate, the user will no longer be able to log in to Showpad, but all their personal data will not be removed and they will not be anonymized in analytics. You can reactivate a deactivated user at any time, but you can not undo deleting a user.When you choose Delete, all their personal data can no longer be accessed, and the user will be anonymized in analytics. Delete multiple users To delete or deactivate users in bulk, select the users you want to delete then click Delete. A message will populate where you will select Delete or Deactivate. If you choose to Delete users, all of their personal data can no longer be accessed and the users will be anonymized in the analytics. This action cannot be undone. If you choose to deactivate the selected users, the users will no longer be able to log into Showpad, but their personal data will not be removed. Analytics will not be anonymized. You can reactivate users at any time. Select the Delete or Deactivate option, then click Confirm.
