Customize Content Structure with Divisions

In large organizations, diverse structures demand independent content and user management across regions, languages, and business units. Showpad Divisions offer a powerful solution, allowing you to tailor content structures, user environments, and permissions at a global level.

Centralized Oversight:

• An overarching Global Division ensures administrators can upload universally accessible content.
• Global Division admins have control over users in both global and underlying Divisions.

Tailored Divisional Control:

• Each underlying Division is managed by Promoted Members with specific content libraries and user structures.
• Promoted Members can upload content, manage users, Courses, Paths, send announcements, and access analytics for their designated Division.

The quick way to awesomeness

1. Open the Admin Settings icon in the top menu
2. Click Divisions
3. Open the Global drop-down list and click New Division
4. Enter the Division name
5. If necessary, select the following check boxes:
   • This Division can share content globally: select this check box if you want other Division to be able to see this Division’s content.
   • Groups assigned to this Division: select the user groups that need access to this Division’s content. You can modify this later.
6. Click the Create button
7. Assign an individual user or user groups to the specific Experience of that Division

Next, you’ll need to promote the user(s) who will manage the content and users in the new Division to Promoted Member(s).

 

Do this step by step

1. Open the Admin Settings icon in the top menu.
   
2. Click Divisions.
3. Open the Global drop-down list and click New Division.
   
4. Select a name for the new division. If necessary, check the box if you want the content in this new division to be shared locally.
   
5. Select the user groups you would like to be assigned to this division. When you're done, click Create.
   

Great. You created your divisions. Next, you’ll need to assign individual users or users groups to experiences in your divisions. Then, you can promote the user(s) who will manage the content and users in the new Division to Promoted Member(s).
