Log in on Showpad using OpenID Connect and Entra ID

You can seamlessly integrate Showpad into your enterprise security policies using OpenID Connect and Entra ID. This lets your users quickly log in with their domain credentials on Showpad's Web app, without using a separate login on Showpad. OpenID is also supported on Showpad's mobile apps.

The quick way to awesomeness

1. In Entra ID, create a New application registration
2. The Sign-on URL and the Reply URL is https://organizationname.showpad.biz/sso/asc
3. Create a new Key in the API Access options
4. Open Showpad's Online Platform, and use the Application ID as the OIDC Client ID
5. The OIDC Client Secret is the value of the generated access key
6. The Provider URL is https://sts.windows.net/---your-Active-Directory-tenant---
7. Auto-register new Entra ID users in Showpad, by activating Auto-provisioning

Do this step by step

1. In Microsoft Azure select Microsoft Entra ID.
2. Create a New application registration.
3. Name the application. Under Supported account types, select Accounts in this organizational directory only. 
4. Under Redirect URI select Web and enter https://your-organization.showpad.biz/sso/asc. Click Register.
5. Check the Redirect URI of your new application. Make sure it uses https://your-organization.showpad.biz/sso/asc.
6. In the application settings, choose Certificates & secrets and create a New client secret. Describe the secret and select an expiration date. If it expires, the integration will fail. Click Add.
7. Copy the Secret ID and the Value of this newly created client secret. The Value will only be available to be copied right after creation. 
8. Open Showpad's Online Platform, go to Admin Settings, Sign On, and click Add Configuration.
9. Enter a Name, select OpenID Connect, and click Next.
10. Enter the Identity Provider parameters.
    • The Provider URL is https://sts.windows.net/---your-Directory-tenant-ID--.
    • Use the Application ID as the Client ID.
    • The OIDC Client Secret is the value of the generated client secret.
    You will receive an error message when you enter the wrong details. You can find your Application (client) ID and Directory (tenant) ID in the Essentials summary of the registered App.
11. Optionally activate Auto-provisioning to auto-register new Entra ID users in Showpad. 
12. Click Save. Your users can now log in to Showpad's Web app with their domain credentials.
