Scenario: You’re a content creator and you’ve just completed the newest asset (let’s say, it’s a case study) and you’re ready to tell the world (via your sales reps) how it’s the right solution. In this case study example, your customer used a combination of offerings (let’s say, Product A, Product B and Service 3) to be successful.
Common Problem: Well, where do you put this asset? You want to put it in the location that makes the most logical sense for your reps. Often, reps search for content by product, so you would put content into the appropriate product folder. However, as described above, this customer leveraged two products and an additional service.
OK. Now what?
You could create a new folder to store all of your case studies, but then your reps would have a hard time identifying case studies that were relevant to products and services. So that isn’t ideal either.
Solution: Why not both?
Once admins upload content into the library (admins only), Showpad has the flexibility to allow that single asset to be distributed to reps in multiple scenarios (via channels/experiences and/or folders).
I can place my case study from the library directly into multiple folders within my structure, a Product A content folder, a Product B content folder and a Service 3 folder. Now, my reps can find that new case study by:
- Looking in the Product A experience or folder
- Looking in the Product B experience or folder
- Looking in the Service 3 experience or folder
- If I had also built a channel or folder containing all case studies and placed it there, reps could also find it by looking in an experience designed to categorize any case study.
A common concern is that as an admin, when the time comes to update, replace or even delete that asset, I have to remember all of the places I put it. The benefit of Showpad’s backend library is that all of those functions are managed in the library; this means that if I make a change (whether changes to the content itself or the file’s Showpad properties) to my case study from the library, the changes are reflected in all locations in Showpad the case studies appear.
